Betty's Trail Rides is proud to announce that rides are now being given at beautiful Cibola Vista Resort in northern Peoria. Our popular wrangler, Candace Martinez, who has been with us for several years, and whom many of our clients have come to know well, is in charge at the Cibola Vista Stables and will be conducting the rides at that location.

Whether you are a guest at the resort, a member of the community or are passing through our area, you will not want to miss our amazing trails that are so close to the city, yet seem to be away from habitation and civilization. On your ride, you will wind through lush desert vegetation and see many species of cacti, incuding giant saguaros, which grow only in central to southern Arizona. At certain times of the year, the desert is alive with colorful flowers such as California and Mexican poppies, brittlebrush, lupines, owl clover, desert mallow, flowering cacti and more. In the distance the blue Bradshaw Mountains, location of past and present gold and silver mines and the Hieroglyphic Mountains, home of ancient Yavapai and Apache Indians, may be viewed towering above the desert floor. At times, you may glimpse wild life such as cottontail and jack rabbits, coyotes, wild burros and various birds such as cactus wrens, woodpeckers, cardinals, hawks and occassionally an eagle from the nearby Lake Pleasant refuge, soaring above you.

Having been raised on the desert, your wrangler, Candace, knows it well and is always ready to answer your questions and relate local history to you. She will match you with a horse suited for your riding ability and needs and see that you are both safe and comfortable on your ride. There are horses for everyone from six years old to (we won't ask you to tell your age) and for every riding ability from novice to experienced.
